This week Elder González had to return to Madrid for two days to do some paperwork for his nationality. He went with another elder who had to do residency paperwork also. Thus I spent beginning of the week with the ayudantes and office elders. It was a lot of fun. We also had interviews this week with President. As always it was a great interview. Transfers are next week. I am not sure if I will stay or leave.... =/
I learned a very valuable lesson this week. Normally I do not like to be with members during proselyting time when we could be out finding and teaching. However we decided to accept the invitation from President to meet with each ward counsel member, offer our help, and then help them. Two great things happened this week from helping the members. First of all, although we dedicated more time to visiting and helping members, we still ended up with visits and even ended the week with more visits than normal. Secondly, through the young men´s president we have found a wonderfully prepared woman. On Thursday we met with the Young Men´s president. Upon offering to help with his goals, he immediately resonded, "Seriously? Can you come to mutual tomorrow? I need help animating the young men for Duty to God. They respond to you elders better." So on Friday we attended mutual and helped teach the young men about the importance of goals, scripture study, etc. I suppose the Young Men´s President was quite grateful for that, because the next day he asked us to meet him later that evening at another member´s house. When we arrived they were waiting with their friend, with whom we then had spiritual lesson. When we dedicated our "finding time" to help the members and gain their trust, they in turn did the finding for us!
